Points don't mean prizes

I liked this snippet from Seth Godin:

"I wonder if real art comes when you build the thing that they don't have a prize for yet"

It's a good reminder that the people building the roads, maps and ways of doing things differently will never win prizes because the people who judge them are usually from the establishment that benefits from the status quo. Last year, I was invited to a dinner to celebrate companies that were growing really quickly. There's little recognition for companies that have decided that they're big enough and don't need to grow, but that's OK.
