Thursday, May 20, 2010 at 6:03AM Adventurer and environmentalist David de Rothschild set up his organisation Adventure Ecology to take messages about common sense good practice into schools and work places, and has used it has the platform for his well-publicised Plastiki expedition which he's now on, sailing a boat made from plastic bottles across the Pacific.
Closer to home for most folk is a platform that he's created, Myoo, that's running competitions from businesses to develop sustainability ideas - they have one running at the moment for businesses and social enterprises in the game of reducing waste. They have $25,000 up for grabs in this competition, which ends in a couple of weeks.
Groups from Wales wanting a faster answer on their success can pitch in for the Welsh Assembly's Sustainable Development Challenge, which is running 1-4 June at the Hay on Earth sustainability seminars at Hay on Wye. Entries for this need to be in by midday on 24 May. Get to it.
