In this boundary-less world, where it's hard or impossible to hide what you're doing from the world, it's strange that a company with as smart a track record as Toyota should fluff a product recall. It seems, according to this article at Brand Channel, that they might have done just that.
With the drastic consequences of Ford's Pinto calculations a generation ago - choosing to pay compensation rather than fix a faulty design - gone but not forgotten, now is not the time to be less than truthful.
