Hack better

Kickstarter is often good place to go play and find out about new projects and ideas that are bubbling into life. One that caught my imagination was funding to get a documentary made about amateur hackers in the US who spend their time thinking, making and sharing rather than buying tatty pre-made projects.

Watch the promo video for the hack video. Minimum investment is $10. I think I might be in.

Hacking for good

The good folks at Zen Internet, TYF's ISP, produce an excellent monthly newsletter of techy things that are understable and useful for non-techy people. It's why I enjoy them.

This month, one of their micro stories was on a micro business, Sugru, which has popped out of a design project in London - creating a new multi-purpose, permanent version of Blu Tak - much more useful for fixing stove handles, knives and the like.

Sugru have sold of their first batch already, and will, I am sure be making more soon. Click through here to get your name on their £7 sale list...
