Hay on Earth 2011

The 2011 Hay on Earth Sustainability Seminars are running from 31st May to 3rd June and once again bring together Doers, activists, connectors and catalysts to share ideas and make change happen.

For the second year, the Welsh Assembly Government's Department for Environment, Sustainability and Housing are supporting the Hay on Earth Green Dragon's Den event, with grants of up to £10,000 available for the four organisations who come out as winners in each day's themed contest to find the projects with greatest ability to scale up engagement, action and outcomes for sustainability.

This year, the core themes for the four days of the event are:

31 May: Clever Stuff – reducing the impact of the stuff we make, buy, use and recycle every day.

1 June: Field to Fork – improving the way we grow, transport, process and use the food we eat

2 June: Home and Hearth – scaling up the good practices that save money and keep us warmer whilst reducing impact on the environment

3 June: Connecting Communities – finding new and better ways to bring together the shared interests of local councils, businesses, communities and the third sector to develop sustainably and promote long term wellbeing

The application forms and further information on each day's programme can be found here and must be submitted by email, by 2nd May. The Green Dragon's Den short list will be published here on 13th May.
